In a recent short interview I did I chatted about a couple of the biggest mistakes in weight loss (there’s a link at the bottom where you can listen to it).
If you’re making these, chances are you’re struggling to make good progress on your weight loss journey.
Two of The Biggest Mistakes In Weight Loss
One of the biggest mistakes in weight loss is going on a prescriptive diet, the types that tell you pretty much exactly what to eat. Most diets ignore the fact that we are individuals. And many of us eat food for other reasons than physical hunger.
One of the many problems with just doing what you’re told is that while you’re focusing on menu plans, doing your best to follow them, you’re not tuning into what’s going on inside your very individual body.
One problem with that is that a food that can appear healthy can in one person make them feel great, and energetic. In another person it can have them feeling really sluggish.
You really need to be tuning into your body.
One of the other biggest mistakes in weight loss is not being aware of the effect particular foods are having on your body.
Many people are trapped in a vicious cycle of blood sugar spikes and crashes – caused by less than ideal choice of food (and they’re often marketed as health foods!)
For example refined white carbs like sugar, white flour and white rice can be totally addictive if you’re prone to that. If you know you’ve got a problem with these you can find out why, and how to deal with it by watching the video in this article:
I chat about all of this in the interview, it’s only 10 minutes.
