How To Get More Energy In 5 Easy Steps

If you knew how to get more energy you’d be able to get more done each day, get more out of life, and just enjoy yourself more. Wouldn’t that be great?

Hydration

Imagine a young plant that was wilting on a hot day because it hadn’t been given enough water. If you don’t hydrate yourself properly your cells will resemble than wilted plant – that’s hardly and an energetic image is it?

It’s impossible to feel full of life if you don’t give your body enough water. The first step in how to get more energy is drinking 8 glasses of water each day.

Remember – caffeine acts as a diuretic, which means you lose more water through your bladder than you actually take in with a caffeinated drink. If you drink caffeine you need to drink even more water to make up for the short fall.

Nutrition

Your energy comes from the food you eat, so this is really important when it comes to how to get more energy. Most people think of this in terms of the calories they eat. However, there’s more to it than that. The energy from your food can only be efficiently released if plenty of vitamins and minerals are present too.

Processed and refined food have had a lot their vitamins and minerals stripped away. This makes is harder for your body to make use of the energy within them. If you put the right fuel into a car engine it tends to run smoothly. When you put the wrong stuff in or inferior fuel, it doesn’t run well and stalls.

Eat whole and natural food. Give your body the right fuel and it will run better – giving you more energy.

Exercise

Your body is very adaptable, it adapts to what you do with it.

If you do little physical activity, your body will adapt to that by conserving energy (turning food to fat), rather than making it available, so you feel sluggish.

By taking some regular activity, even it that’s just a 30 minute brisk walk each day, you send the message to your body that you are active and need energy. Your body will therefore make more energy available, rather than storing it. You feel livelier!

Sleep

You’ve got to get enough sleep on a consistent basis to feel good. Most adults need between 7 and 8 hours each night. Are you giving yourself enough time to get this?

The other thing to consider is that caffeine can take up to 8 hours to get out of your system. Even though it might not be keeping you awake, if can damage the quality of your sleep – making you feel sluggish in the morning.

Cut caffeine down and don’t have any 8 hours before your usual bed time.
